1. What this site is

LifePath is an entertainment and educational simulation software tool. It runs a model of a life using published national statistics. It is not a prediction service, not a forecasting tool, and not advice of any kind — not medical, financial, legal, or immigration advice.

2. No reliance

The model works from national averages and cannot describe any individual life. Results are illustrative. Do not use a simulation, or any page on this site, as a basis for a decision about your health, finances, family, employment or relocation.

3. No guarantee of accuracy

Statistics are reproduced from the World Bank with the year of observation shown, but they may be revised by the source, and transcription errors, while we aim to avoid them, can occur. The simulation model is a simplification and omits much of what happens in real lives. No representation or warranty, express or implied, is made as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose.

4. Acceptable use

The site may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or use it in a way that breaks applicable law.

5. Intellectual property

The site design, the simulation engine, the event and decision catalogue, and the written material are ours. The underlying country statistics are the property of the World Bank and are used under their published licence, with attribution. Third-party trademarks belong to their owners.

6. Advertising

The site displays third-party advertising. We do not endorse the products or services advertised, and advertising never influences any statistic, model parameter or conclusion on this site.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, LifePath is not liable for any loss arising from use of this site, including reliance on simulation output as advice of any kind.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the last revision.
