Schooling costs and enrolment by country
How much each country spends on education, and how many of its children are actually in school.
Public spending on education is a share of national output, and enrolment is a count of children in secondary school. The two are related but not the same thing: spending sets the ceiling, and what families can afford sets the floor. Both are reported here with the year of observation.

About these figures
Every number on this page comes from the World Bank Open Data, with the year it was observed attached. World Bank data is released under CC BY 4.0 Retrieved 2026-11-01.
This page describes the shape of the data. It does not rank countries against each other, and it says nothing about the people who live in them — a low figure is a fact about conditions and about what the source reports, not a verdict on a population. Our editorial standard.
See it as a life
